Fotomuuseumis on praegu üleval näitus nimega „Varjust välja. Esimesed naisfotograafid Eestis“, mis seab ritta neli naisfotograafi, kelle tegevus jäi 20. sajandi esimesse poolde. Anna Kukk (1885-1960), Lydia Tarem (1904-1979), Hilja Riet (1905-2006) ja Evi Lemberg (1904-1999) tegelesid pildistamisega terve elu. Lemberg töötas esmalt abikaasa kõrval ning hiljem iseseisvalt Tallinnas. Kukk pildistas tsaariaegset kullakaevandamist ja sai esimese naisena erialase kutsetunnistuse. Riet kasvas iseseisvaks fotograafiks isa Jaani ateljeest. Haapsalus elanud ja töötanud Taremil oli oma isiklik ateljee. Näitusel saab tutvuda naiste elulugude ning loominguga, näha nende isiklikke kaameraid, albumeid ja fotosid. Näitus jääb avatuks kuni juunini 2016, nii et minge kindlasti uudistama.
Photo Museum is holding an exhibition "Out of the shadow. First female photographers in Estonia" right now, which presents four female photographers from the beginning of the 20th century - Anna Kukk (1885-1960), Lydia Tarem (1904-1979), Hilja Riet (1905-2006) and Evi Lemberg (1904-1999). Lemberg first worked beside her husband and then on her own in Tallinn. Kukk photographed gold digging and was the first woman who got a photography certificate. Riet's father had a studio from where she learned photography. Tarem had her own studio in Haapsalu. In this exhibition the biography and creative work of those four women is presented along with what cameras they used and how their albums looked. Exhibition will be up until June 2016, so definitely visit and see yourself.
