ENERGIA AVASTUSKESKUS / ENERGY DISCOVERY CENTRE

Mõnda aega tagasi külastasin Energia Avastuskeskust ja veetsin seal lausa paar tundi. Tegemist on teaduskeskusega, mis on keskendunud eelkõige loodus-, tehnika- ja reaalteadustele. Põnev ajaveetmine kogu perele, nii et tasub külastamist! Keskusest leiab üle 130 interaktiivse eksponaadi, mis tutvustavad häält ja heli, valgust ja optikat, füüsikat, energeetika ja elektri tootmise ajalugu, tuuma- ja põlevkivienergeetikat, taastuvaid energiaallikaid jne. Energia Avastuskeskuse üheks tõmbenumbriks on Baltimaades unikaalne Tesla generaator Faraday puuris, kus demonstreeritakse kuni 3-meetriseid välgunooli (vaata lähemalt videost). Tähelepanuväärne on seegi, et see Põhja pst 29 asuv hoone on üle 100 aasta vana (Tallinna linna endine elektrijaam). Some time ago I visited the Energy Discovery Centre where I spent a couple of hours in. It is a science centre which is mostly focused on IT, natural and formal sciences. It is an interesting use of time for the whole family so definitely worth a visit! There are over 130 interactive exhibits in the Energy Discovery Centre. Travel to distant planets, learn to know discoveries in space, take a look at the old diesel engine, raise your hair by walking on a lightning bridge, see a unique lightning demonstration etc. You have a chance to discover space in a virtual planetarium and learn about different scientific phenomena at the science theatre (see more from the video). The unique historical and industrial building is more than a 100 years old (it used to be a power station of Tallinn).
